Your online banking app will allow you to change your personal details, alternatively, you can go to your nearest branch and update your details there. You may need proof of address if you go into the branch, so you may want to change your driver’s licence prior. Superannuation funds also have online options or you can call their customer service line for their change of details process.
For services such as after school care, after school sporting activities, or tutoring, it is best to contact directly as each service may have a different process. For institutions like school, TAFE or universities, check their website for an option to update personal details, or contact the institution.
This includes services such as Australia Post, the Electoral Commission, Centrelink, and Medicare. MyGov is the best platform to update your personal details or head into a Service NSW Centre.
Most insurance companies like AAMI, HCF and NRMA have online portals where you can edit and update your contact details. It will be important to update your home and contents insurer as the address of your new residence may impact your insurance.
For professionals such as your accountant, lawyer, chiropractor and veterinarian contact their office to find out what you need to do. For medical professionals such as your general practitioner, physiotherapist, or dentist, update your Medicare details first, and at each appointment, their system will be updated.
Your local council will have an online form, and the City of Sydney has a form that will assist in linking you with your current local council and your new local council. Sydney water also has an online form.
Using your last bill or an online account is the simplest way to contact your utility provider. Make sure to include your last day of use as this will affect your billing period. Streaming services like Netflix, Stan or Foxtel, each of them has personal detail settings on their app or online.
