Small Estates
Some deceased estates only include a small number of assets which have a small or nominal value.
The team at ALA law is able to liaise and negotiate directly with asset holders to have those assets released without the need to obtain a grant from the Supreme Court, saving the estate unnecessary legal fees.
The process varies depending on the asset that is being called in and the institution in which each asset is held.
You will usually be required to provide a small estates indemnity to the asset holder ( e.g. the bank) prior to them releasing the funds.
What if we are unable to negotiate for release without a grant?
If we are unable to arrange release without a grant, the Supreme Court does not charge a filing fee for estates with a value under $100,000, and the professional fees are set at a minimal amount.
