Alexandra Duckett

Solicitor – Family Law, Wills & Estates

Meet Alexandra:

Warm, considered, and commercially minded, Alexandra is deeply committed to helping clients feel supported and in control during some of the most challenging periods of their lives. She understands that family breakdowns, complex property pools, estate decisions, and uncertainty about the future can feel overwhelming. Alexandra takes the time to listen, explain options clearly, and build a practical pathway forward so her clients feel informed, reassured, and genuinely looked after.

Balancing care with clarity, she combines a human-centred approach with strong financial and commercial insight. Whether she is navigating a separation, protecting clients from family violence, or structuring an estate plan, Alexandra focuses on outcomes that are both emotionally sustainable and financially sound.

Her experience:

As a Solicitor at ALA Law, Alexandra assists families, parents, blended families, executors, and individuals facing life-shaping legal decisions in family law and estate planning. She is particularly passionate about guiding clients through complex property settlements and future-focused planning, where careful strategy and clear advice make all the difference.

Before entering the legal profession, Alexandra worked in a senior strategy role within a Big 4 consulting firm. There, she advised major organisations on high-value projects, risk, and long-term business planning. This experience gives her a unique edge as a lawyer: she understands balance sheets, commercial drivers, and financial risk, and she brings that insight into every property and estate matter she handles.

Compelled to move into law by the national crisis in family violence, Alexandra completed a combined Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce at Macquarie University, followed by Practical Legal Training at the College of Law (graduating with High Distinction). She has also undertaken international studies in Sweden and leadership training in the United States, building a strong, interdisciplinary foundation for her practice.

Business and financial acumen sit at the heart of the advice she provides, but it is her empathy, calm presence, and human-centred focus that ensure clients feel truly seen, heard, and supported.

Her key areas of practice:

  • Property Settlements (including complex and high-value property pools)
  • Parenting & Co-parenting Matters
  • Divorce & Separation
  • Family Violence & Safety Planning
  • Estate Planning
  • Technology, Innovation & Tech-Enabled Abuse Issues

Who should choose Alexandra as their lawyer?

Alexandra is the right fit for clients who want a lawyer who is both caring and commercially aware — someone who can hold space for emotion while keeping a clear eye on the numbers and the long-term plan.

Her approach suits clients who:

  • Want to resolve their matter without unnecessary conflict
  • Value clear, strategic, and future-focused advice
  • Need a solicitor who can calmly navigate emotionally charged issues
  • Want a practical plan, not just a legal process
  • Have complex property or financial structures and want these understood and reflected in their outcome
  • Are planning for the future through estate planning or strategic separation
  • Prefer a lawyer who can explain financial, legal, and risk issues in simple, transparent terms

Alexandra is more than a solicitor — she is a steady, strategic guide for clients navigating change. She helps people move forward with clarity, confidence, and a sense of security about both their future and their financial position.
